Making Brushes & Brushsets [ Downloadable ]

Here are some things to consider about making brushes:
  • The lighter the color of the brush, the more transparent it will be.
  • The color white (#FFFFFF) will be completely transparent.
  • Colors will not show.

    After making your brush, use the Marquee Tool to outline what you would like to have as a brush. Go to Edit >> Define Brush Preset. [ Screenshot ] Keep doing this until you have all the brushes you want in a brush set.

    Go to Edit >> Preset Manager (way at the bottom). Make sure the preset type is 'Brushes' if it isn't already. Click the brush presets you want to have in the brush set (press the CTRL button on your keyboard). After you're done, click 'Save Set.' [ Screenshot ] Then name the .ABR file anything you want.

    Right click and copy the .ABR file you just saved. [ Screenshot ] Go to your Desktop and right click >> Paste. Right click on that file and send it to a Compressed File Folder. [ Screenshot ]

    Afterwards, open your FTP program. Upload the brush.zip file to your site. Now you have downloadable brushes!
