Before You Start...
Your layout doesn't have to be WOWSUPERFABULOUS, but make it good. It *is* the first impression when someone goes on to your site. Make sure your coding is organized and neat. A site that is pleasing to the eyes will retain its visitors, and make any potential affiliates go, "Danggg, this site rad. I should totally accept their application."
Alrighty! Let's Get Some Affies!
Exchanging links is the oldest trick in the book. It works! You can apply to affiliate with people who have the same type of site as you, or to sites you like. Try to affiliate with a more popular site. (They will tend to be picky, so make sure your site is supercool before you do.)Paid Advertising
Those popular sites I was talking about? Many of them offer paid advertising. (Like mine - wink, wink.) For one or two dollars, your site could get a LOT of new visitors every day. Also look at some messageboards for advertising your banner.Join a Topsite!
You know those topsites people are always asking you to vote on? Well, go join one! Make sure it's a worthwhile topsite. Check the current sites that are on there. If they are getting more outgoing hits than incoming hits, then you should join. (Why? Well, if your site gets 72 incoming votes but only 3 people click your link out, what's the point?)Exposure Sites
You should join sites like despair.nu and xposure.nu. It's got a rotation that all the other members will put on their site. In addition, it also has a commenting system, where the members
